SOUTHEASTERN LOGAN...NORTHEASTERN SANGAMON AND WEST CENTRAL MACON
COUNTIES...

At 1118 PM CDT, a severe squall line capable of producing both
tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage was located near
Williamsville, or 12 miles east of Athens, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is
likely.

These dangerous storms will be near...
Cornland around 1125 PM CDT.
Illiopolis around 1135 PM CDT.
Niantic around 1140 PM CDT.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 55 between mile markers 107 and 110.
Interstate 72 between mile markers 123 and 128.

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to

* At 1111 PM CDT, a tornado producing storm was located over
Riverton, or near Springfield, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.

the following counties, in central Illinois, De Witt, Logan,
Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Peoria, Sangamon, Stark, Tazewell
and Woodford. In west central Illinois, Cass, Fulton, Knox,
Morgan, Schuyler and Scott.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Another round of showers and thunderstorms capable of
producing heavy rain will move across portions of central
Illinois this evening and overnight.
