* At 435 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Summerville,
moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose Creek,
Hanahan, Moncks Corner, Ladson, Naval Weapons Station Charleston,
I-26/I-526 Interchange and Daniel Island.

This includes the following highways...
I-26 between mile markers 190 and 215. I-526 between mile markers 18
and 27.

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm. Do not drive
your vehicle through flooded roadways.

AND DORCHESTER COUNTIES UNTIL 5 PM EDT...

At 411 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Givhans Ferry State Park, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
North Charleston, Summerville, Givhans Ferry State Park, Ladson,
Dorchester, Ridgeville, Cottageville, Knightsville and Jedburg.

This includes I-26 between mile markers 187 and 204.

* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level
expected along shorelines and tidal waterways (7.0 to 7.2 feet
Mean Lower Low Water at Charleston).

* WHERE...Coastal Colleton and Charleston Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 PM to 10 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...This could result in some roads becoming impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tide will occur around 8:13 PM today
at Charleston. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2
hours before and after high tide.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
